About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Accounts, the Finance Manager will oversee the company’s financial management and maintain accurate financial records. This role requires strategic financial oversight, meticulous bookkeeping, and leadership in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and review financial strategies, ensuring optimal use of profits and reserves.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to the Managing Director.

Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze annual financial statements, statutory accounts, and tax filings.
  • Produce management accounts, departmental budgets, and five-year forecasts.
  • Generate ad hoc financial reports as needed.

Systems & Software Management

  • Oversee internal accounting systems, implementing updates and improvements where necessary.
  • Maintain accounting software and coordinate upgrades and third-party support.

Expenditure & Budget Control

  • Monitor company expenditure, providing strategic advice to budget holders.
  • Work closely with departments to prepare and execute budgets.

Ledger & Payment Management

  • Maintain the General Ledger, reconciling control accounts and allocating expenditures.
  • Process supplier invoices, ensure timely payments, and manage credit control.

Treasury & Tax Compliance

  • Manage all treasury functions, including bank accounts and company credit/debit cards.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the filing of tax returns.

Insurance & Risk Management

  • Administer the company’s insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage and handling claims.
  • Review and update insurance arrangements as needed.

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate information.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to protect the organization’s financial security.

General Duties

  • Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and monthly management reports.
  • Contribute to strategic planning by providing financial insights.
  • Safeguard confidential financial information.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification: Membership with ICAN or ACCA.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a financial management role.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting systems.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and accounting software.
    • Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications
