Summary
The Asset Manager will oversee and optimize the value of the company’s oil and gas assets, managing their lifecycle from exploration to decommissioning. This role involves working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency and maximize returns on investment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in petroleum engineering, project management, and financial analysis, combined with strong leadership skills to drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the performance of the company’s primary oil and gas assets, ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Oversee asset development, production, and decommissioning phases, incorporating comprehensive planning and risk management at each stage.
- Collaborate with operations teams to monitor asset performance, implement optimization strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage budgets for assets, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and conduct financial evaluations to maximize investment returns.
- Shape the company’s asset portfolio strategy in collaboration with senior management, identifying opportunities for acquisitions, divestitures, and operational improvements.
- Liaise with joint venture partners, regulatory bodies, and internal teams (e.g., finance, legal, and HSE) to ensure smooth asset operations.
- Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and environmental risks related to asset performance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Geosciences, or a related field.
- A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) or similar postgraduate business qualification is a plus.
- At least 15 years of experience in asset management within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on upstream operations.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas exploration and production processes.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects and driving performance improvements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and industry-standard software (e.g., reservoir simulation tools, asset management systems).
