Job Opportunity: Finance Associate (Remote)
Overview
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Associate to support the financial operations of a growing network of restaurant merchants. This role encompasses managing complex partner relationships, overseeing bespoke deal terms, consolidating corporate expenses, preparing sales tax data, and assisting with essential accounting and bookkeeping functions.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and skilled in Google Sheets and Excel, with expertise in organizing and analyzing financial data.
Location: Fully remote, 9 AM – 5 PM EST
Key Responsibilities
- Merchant Payments
- Manage and execute payments for over 400 restaurant and retail merchants.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness based on individual deal terms, timing, and pricing.
- Handle large, complex financial workbooks in Google Sheets and Excel with precision.
- Corporate Card Consolidation
- Oversee and categorize corporate card expenses to align with budget allocations.
- Develop a deep understanding of the P&L and core business expenses.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership for coordination and reporting.
- Sales Tax Filing
- Prepare and review transactional CSV uploads for submission to TaxJar.
- Ensure accurate and compliant reporting across states where merchants operate.
- Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Support reconciliation of accounts and financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Spreadsheet Management
- Demonstrate expertise in Google Sheets and Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial tracking.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Create and analyze financial reports.
- Identify trends and insights to support business decisions.

Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years in finance, accounting, or a related field; experience managing partner/vendor payments is preferred.
- Organization & Detail Orientation: Ability to manage complex deal terms and maintain accuracy in financial tasks.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Google Sheets and Excel, including complex functions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for team collaboration and clear financial reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze financial data and generate actionable insights.
- Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with sales tax processes; experience with TaxJar is a significant plus.
