Job Summary
Are you a skilled and responsible driver with 1-2 years of professional experience? Balkaan Employment Services is looking for a reliable individual to join our team in Lagos as a Professional Driver. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transportation of staff and goods, maintaining company vehicles in top condition, and adhering to all safety regulations. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this role requires efficiency, reliability, and a commitment to excellent service.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Secondary School Certificate Examination (S.S.C.E).
- Experience: 1-2 years of professional driving experience.
- License: Valid Nigerian driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe Transportation:
- Drive company vehicles to transport staff, executives, and goods safely within Lagos and surrounding areas.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct routine checks on oil levels, tire pressure, brakes, and other critical components.
- Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and in excellent working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or damages to the fleet supervisor immediately.
- Compliance:
- Strictly follow traffic rules, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure all necessary vehicle documents (e.g., insurance and license) are valid and up to date.
- Efficiency & Reliability:
- Ensure punctuality for scheduled tasks and appointments.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required.
- Keep detailed records of trips, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance.
- Customer Service:
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with staff, clients, and external contacts.
Job Requirements
- Driving Expertise:
- Proven 1-2 years of driving experience.
- Knowledge of Lagos roads, routes, and traffic conditions.
- Skills:
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to use GPS and navigation apps for efficient routing.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Personal Attributes:
- Punctual, reliable, and responsible.
- Physically fit for long hours of driving.
- Flexible to work on weekends or outside regular hours when necessary.
Additional Skills (Preferred but Not Required):
- Experience driving larger vehicles like vans or trucks.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
