Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Analyst to join our family office. This role involves working across diverse sectors, including Real Estate, Agriculture, Oil and Gas, and Financial Services. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support budgeting and forecasting activities. A strong foundation in accounting principles, financial analysis, and attention to detail is essential.
The primary goal of this role is to maintain the financial integrity of our firm and portfolio companies through meticulous record-keeping and insightful financial reporting. You will gain exposure to financial accounting in a multi-entity environment, requiring proficiency in accounting software, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines. Responsibilities include processing payments, managing payroll, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and assisting with audits. The ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations:
- Process bi-weekly payments and manage expense tracking.
- Oversee payroll operations for multiple entities, coordinating with external consultants.
- Prepare monthly expenditure reports, manage document storage, and compile quarterly reports.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Develop annual budgets and cash flow statements.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for portfolio companies.
Treasury and Investment Management:
- Manage treasury operations, including cash position monitoring and foreign exchange activities.
- Assist in managing external investments and identifying new opportunities.
Strategic Development:
- Collaborate with partners to identify and develop new business lines.
- Support company restructuring initiatives and manage setup/wind-down processes.
Asset Management:
- Actively manage existing assets across the portfolio.
- Contribute to the growth and value of the firm and portfolio companies.
Budget Management:
- Develop and track budgets across various sectors (finance, agriculture, real estate).
- Monitor cash flows against budgets and suggest improvements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
- Strong background in financial analysis, asset management, and business development.
- Excellent quantitative skills and proficiency in financial modeling.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability to manage varying workloads and priorities across multiple sectors.
