Job Summary:
The Strategy Analyst will support the company’s strategic roadmap by analyzing data, market trends, and internal performance to develop actionable strategies. The role involves providing market insights, data-driven recommendations, and collaborating across departments to drive business growth and optimize operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis and Insights:
- Analyze global oil and gas markets, including supply/demand trends, geopolitical developments, and price movements.
- Monitor competitors and industry innovations.
- Collaborate with Traders and Chartering teams on market trends and vessel movements.
- Develop market entry plans and business strategies.
- Strategic Planning:
- Support corporate and trading strategies to optimize profitability.
- Update and maintain the company’s strategic roadmap.
- Evaluate trading opportunities and create financial models for decision-making.
- Business Intelligence:
- Analyze trading performance and provide actionable insights.
- Prepare market reports and updates for senior leadership.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work with traders, risk management, finance, and operations teams.
- Prepare presentations and reports for executive and board-level discussions.
- Project Support:
- Participate in strategic initiatives like M&A, joint ventures, and new market entry projects.
- Support project planning, tracking, and implementation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 1st degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
- 2-5 years of experience in strategy, consulting, or financial analysis, preferably in oil and gas or energy trading.
- Beginner-level understanding of oil and gas markets and familiarity with the value chain (upstream, midstream, downstream).
- Experience with trading platforms and tools like Bloomberg, Platts, or Refinitiv/Reuters.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Oil & Gas industry dynamics and commodities trading.
- Derivatives trading (forwards, futures, swaps, OTCs).
- Statistical and qualitative analysis.
- Risk and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
