Mission:
To deliver network support services that ensure network availability, optimize network performance, and implement new services and features. The role involves resolving Switching Network-related queries, testing and verifying new functionality (both software and hardware), and enhancing overall network performance.
Job Description:
- Identify, analyze, and plan for current and future network operation needs, focusing on high-level support for network performance.
- Implement, install, and integrate new nodes into the network, and coordinate the calibration and repair of test equipment in the region.
- Execute radio-related resolutions received from the Head Office.
- Conduct detailed investigations on the Cellular Network to optimize protocol layers and architecture (including SS7 signaling and AXE Plex investigations).
- Perform new functionality and service testing as required.
- Assist Radio Engineers, Optimization, and Facilities teams in implementing solutions and supporting personnel to resolve complex faults.
- Provide auditing and mentorship to regional radio staff, ensuring a basic level of competency through informal training and guidance.
- Assist Head Office RHLS in evaluating new GSM radio equipment, configurations, software releases, tests, and peripheral equipment.
- Escalate unresolved radio-related network issues to Head Office RHLS.
- Resolve network-related faults and issues escalated from Second Line Operation and Maintenance (SMC/CNO/DCG).
- Manage and administer Customer Service Requests (CSRs) to relevant switching element suppliers.
- Test and integrate software upgrades/releases from suppliers.
- Perform software verification, correction loading, and acceptance of new nodes before network integration.
- Ensure software correction levels and tracking are maintained across the network.
Education:
- First degree in a related discipline.
- Fluency in English.
Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in a specialized area, with a track record of collaborative work.
- Experience working in a medium-sized organization.
- Experience in the Telecoms sector.
- Ericsson and Huawei switching experience is desirable.
