About the Role
Startev Africa is looking for a creative and dynamic Social Media & Communications Officer to join our team! If you have a passion for storytelling, social media trends, and strategic communications, this is an exciting opportunity to make an impact.
Responsibilities
- Social Media Management: Create, schedule, and manage engaging content across platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Content Creation: Develop high-quality written, visual, and video content for social media and communication channels.
- Branding: Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all digital platforms.
- Community Engagement: Interact with followers, respond to inquiries, and manage online communities.
- Campaign Development: Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute digital campaigns.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track and report on key social media metrics (engagement, growth, etc.).
- Media Relations: Draft press releases, newsletters, and communication materials to share company updates.
Requirements
- Recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- NYSC member or awaiting posting (Pre-NYSC).
- Experience in social media management, content creation, or communications (preferred but not required).
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity with a keen eye for design and detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer) and graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe) is a plus.
