PeopleCert is currently seeking Remote Online Speaking Examiners to assess candidates’ English-speaking proficiency as part of the LanguageCert International ESOL (Speaking & Listening) exam suite. This flexible, remote role involves conducting online exams and evaluating candidates based on strict assessment criteria, ensuring integrity and consistency throughout the process.
Role Highlights
As a Remote Online Speaking Examiner, you will:
- Conduct online spoken interviews using the scripted Interlocutor Framework and LanguageCert regulations.
- Manage exam interactions to facilitate a positive candidate experience while maintaining professional standards.
- Ensure fair and consistent assessment of candidate performance in accordance with stringent criteria.
- Authenticate candidates’ identities and safeguard exam integrity.
- Perform basic troubleshooting to ensure a smooth technical experience for candidates.
- Attend training and standardization sessions to maintain excellence in assessment practices.
- Provide feedback on assessment materials and suggest improvements.
- Ensure confidentiality of exam materials and adherence to PeopleCert’s policies and values.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in English Language or a related field (e.g., Linguistics, Education, TESOL) OR a TEFL/TESOL qualification (Level 5 or above).
- A minimum of 4 years’ full-time TEFL teaching experience (excluding freelance and volunteer roles).
- Proven experience in English language assessment with recognized awarding bodies.
- Exceptional command of English (C2/native), with excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills.
- Familiarity with the CEFR framework and proficiency with online communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
- Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
- Advanced qualifications (postgraduate, research degrees, or teaching certifications).
- Experience in certification, training, or examination fields.
- Prior knowledge of public procurement frameworks or similar processes.
