Having successfully entered the Nigerian market, we are rapidly expanding, aiming to establish hundreds of locations within the next year. To support this growth, we plan to hire over 100 new team members within six months.
Job Summary
As the Technical Procurement Manager, you will oversee the procurement process for technical bids, including civil works, telecommunication equipment, and operational supplies. Your role involves market analysis, supplier relationship management, and ensuring compliance with Jaza’s procurement policies while driving cost-effective and quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Duties:
- Prepare and manage formal bid documents for technical procurement in line with Jaza’s procedures.
- Analyze supply markets to identify potential suppliers and emerging trends.
- Identify cost drivers and savings opportunities within technical procurement.
- Benchmark current costs with industry standards to achieve better pricing.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms while fostering win-win relationships.
- Maintain and enhance supplier relationships through performance reviews and cost analyses.
- Develop demand forecasts and supply plans to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams for smooth transitions during product changes or new launches.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with Jaza’s policies and regulatory standards.
General Operations:
- Comply with Nigerian health, safety, and environmental laws and Jaza’s internal policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to align with Jaza’s objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Jaza Core Principles.
- Perform additional duties as directed by management.
Compliance Management:
- Stay updated on Nigerian regulations for importing goods and local sourcing.
- Ensure vendors adhere to Jaza’s quality standards.
- Monitor company purchases to stay within budget.
- Recommend process improvements to boost efficiency.
- Prepare regular management reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc.).
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in sciences, engineering, or social sciences.
- Experience: At least 5 years in service procurement within industries like energy, telecommunications, oil and gas, engineering, or FMCG.
- Familiarity with computerized procurement systems.
- Strong knowledge of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
- Experience in preparing and managing budgets.
