The New Daily Prime, a newly launched newspaper in Nigeria, is seeking skilled and experienced Newspaper Editors to join our team. We need individuals who can transform rough drafts into polished, captivating stories.

Job Description and Responsibilities
- Breaking News: Work in a fast-paced, 24-hour newsroom, editing breaking news alongside a team of journalists.
- Collaboration: Partner with reporters to identify and deliver timely stories for a top English-language news outlet.
- Story Development: Generate original news content and consistently meet tight deadlines.
- Content Verification: Verify images, videos, and other social media content for accuracy before publication.
- Digital Analytics: Use digital tools to track and improve content performance.
- SEO Knowledge: Apply search engine optimization techniques to increase readership.
- Teamwork: Coordinate effectively with colleagues across departments.
- Legal Awareness: Comply with Nigerian and global editorial standards, including media and copyright laws.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of editing experience with a national newspaper.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt to different tones and styles.
- Proven track record of working well with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to travel, attend events, and work outside regular hours as necessary.
- Availability to work Monday through Sunday.
- Willingness to take on additional tasks when needed.
Location: Remote
Remuneration: NGN 250,000/month
